I don't even know how this song landed in my music library but I have loved it since. I kicked myself today because I never before took the time to check out the rest of The Walkmen's music...I did that today...it's been a sweet morning. I love their sound.
This is the song that caught me. It's called The Rat. I listen to it like, 12 times a day.
You've got a nerve to be asking a favor
You've got a nerve to be calling my number
I know we've been through this before
Can't you hear me, I'm calling out your name?
Can't you see me, I'm pounding on your door?
You've got a nerve to be asking a favor
You've got a nerve to be calling my number
Can't you hear me, I'm bleeding on the wall?
Can't you see me, I'm pounding on your door?
Can't you hear me when I'm calling out your name?
When I used to go out, I would know everyone that I saw
Now I go out alone if I go out at all
When I used to go out I'd know everyone I saw
Now I go out alone if I go out at all
When I used to go out I'd know everyone I saw
Now I go out alone if I go out at all
You've got a nerve to be asking a favor
You've got a nerve to be calling my number
I'm sure we've been through this before
Can't you hear me, I'm beating on your wall?
Cant you see me, I'm pounding on your door?
Their most recent album is acutally not so recent, being released back in July 2008, but according to the band's latest update on their website, their 6th album is "almost done". Check out "Red River" and "Louisiana"...you can thank me later. :)
PS. I feel better today, thank you for all the kind messages. I see a shrink tomorrow. :)
Ofa atu!
