Lazy Sunday

G'day mates!

I'm happy to say that my family and I have survived the blizzard.  I am making a movie about the entire adventure that I will post soon if you all are interested in seeing it.  We built a huge snowman and a small igloo in our front yard.  So fun!

It was crazy.  We haven't really seen snow like this in the DC metropolitan area for years, and I grew up in California...so this was sort of new for me.  I don't have any of the proper clothing for going out in this kind of weather, but I did it anyway and had a blast.

My son is outside now and I am watching him out of my window climbing on top of the huge mountains of snow that the snow plow left behind and sliding down on his butt.

I think I will join him after this Lazy Sunday goodness.

As you can tell, I have had fun but I am still so over winter, it's not even funny.  So today's theme will be SPRING!

812 by Emily Dickinson

A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period —
When March is scarcely here

A Color stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.

It waits upon the Lawn,
It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
It almost speaks to you.

Then as Horizons step
Or Noons report away
Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay —

A quality of loss
Affecting our Content
As Trade had suddenly encroached
Upon a Sacrament.
